About Fluvial Hydraulics
Fluvial Hydraulics is a space dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of river flow dynamics and their responses to both natural and human-induced changes. The goal is to disentangle the intricate knots that bind together the disciplines of fluid mechanics, engineering, and social sciences. Together we will delve into the fundamental mechanics of fluid flow, floods, sediment and contaminant transport, while simultaneously examining the profound ways these dynamic systems shape human society, regional geopolitics, and infrastructure — local and global, alike.
Whether you are a student grappling with open-channel flow equations, a researcher examining a broad open question, or a water resource professional/policy maker navigating the complex politics of water management, I sincerely hope that this space provides a platform to further your understanding of the world's rivers.

Pratik's research focuses on the numerical modelling of floods and contaminant transport during floods. More generally, however, he is passionate about rivers and their unbounded and endless interactions with civilisation.
